Precision · Pleasure · Ease
The award-winning scale,
reimagined in Pitch Black.
Meet the Acaia Pearl, a coffee scale built on laboratory weighing technology. It pairs feather-light 0.1 g accuracy with a lightning 20 ms response time and a real-time flow-rate indicator that lets you read every pour. Whether you are dialling in a competition pour over or simply keeping an eye on weight and time, the Pearl shows every value on one display.
Built for the brew bar
Read every pour.
Pour like a pro.
The Pearl's real-time flow-rate indicator visualises exactly how fast water meets the grounds, from 0.5 g/s at the centre out to 9.5 g/s at the ends. Brighter LED markers flag the ideal-flow thresholds at 2.5 and 6.5 g/s, so you can pour evenly, repeat your best recipes and taste the difference in the cup.
Real-time flow rate
A top LED strip shows your live pouring speed from 0.5 g/s at the centre outward, with brighter markers at the ideal-flow thresholds. Pour visualisation without the guesswork.
Faster & more responsive
New weighing technology stabilises faster and more accurately, with a 20 ms response time and up to one million internal counts.
Sunlight-readable display
A brighter 8-digit LED display with adjustable brightness stays crisp in any indoor light and even outdoors.
Bluetooth & the Acaia app
Connect to the free Acaia Coffee app on iOS and Android to unlock modes, save recipes and review every brew.
Engineered for taste
Weigh, time and pour
all in one glance.
The Pearl keeps every variable that shapes your cup right in front of you. Dose your beans to 0.1 g, watch the timer start the moment water lands, and follow your flow rate live, so every brew is one you can read, repeat and refine.
Built to industrial standards.
Beneath the matte Pitch Black shell sits laboratory weighing technology in a modular design. It's a precision instrument made to live on your brew bar for years and to feel as considered as the coffee you make with it.
Modes
One scale,
every brew method.
From a quick single dose to a full pour over ritual, the Pearl adapts to the way you brew, with essential modes ready out of the box and more inside the app.
Weighing Mode
Pure, fast and stable weight readings to 0.1 g for dosing beans and water.
Dual Display Mode
Weight and timer side by side, the everyday mode for dialled-in pour over.
Auto-Start Timer
The timer starts the instant water hits the cup, so your ratio and time always line up.
Dosing / Portafilter Mode
Auto-tare for fast, consistent back-to-back doses at the espresso bar.
Beverage Mode
Tuned for pour over and beverages, with extraction measurements you can observe and refine.
How accurate does a pour over scale really need to be?
A pour over scale needs a resolution of 0.1 g, and the reason is the coffee dose, not the water. At 15 g of coffee to 225 ml of water, a brew ratio of 1:15, a deviation of one gram shifts the dose by almost 7 percent. You can taste that in the cup. A scale that reads in 0.1 g steps keeps the same error below 1 percent, while one gram more or less water hardly matters. The second requirement is a timer on the same display, because a pour depends on how much water reaches the grounds in how much time. Third, the reading has to respond quickly so it follows the stream instead of lagging behind it. Fourth, the scale needs enough capacity for dripper, server and water together. The Acaia Pearl Pitch Black reads to 0.1 g, carries up to 2000 g, responds in 20 ms and shows weight and timer side by side. Its battery lasts 30 to 40 hours and charges over USB Type-C.
What a pour over scale has to do
The table lists the requirements in the order you notice them while brewing, next to the values of the Acaia Pearl Pitch Black from the details list on this page.
| Criterion | Why it matters | Acaia Pearl Pitch Black |
|---|---|---|
| Resolution | With 15 g of coffee, one gram off shifts the dose by almost 7 percent. | 0.1 g |
| Maximum capacity | Dripper, server and brewing water sit on the scale at the same time. | 2000 g |
| Battery life | A scale that rarely needs the cable stays on the brew bar. | 30 to 40 hours, charging over USB Type-C |
| Timer | Weight and brew time belong on one display so pour and time line up. | built in, auto-start on first water contact |
| Response time | The reading has to follow the stream, or you pour too much. | 20 ms |
| Flow rate | Shows whether you pour evenly. | LED indicator from 0.5 to 9.5 g/s |
The Pearl in your brewing setup
While you pour, the Pearl sits under dripper and server, for example the Graycano Dripper with the Filter GC01 on top of the Pourcano. It shows how much water runs through the coffee bed in how much time. What it cannot show is how much of the coffee actually dissolved. That is what a refractometer such as the DiFluid R2 Extract measures. Dose and beverage weight from the scale, combined with the TDS reading, give you the extraction yield, which you can calculate and save in the Brew Lab.
How the Pearl works together with dripper, grinder and water is shown in the pour over setup in three steps.
