We live in a world that moves too fast. And somewhere in the middle of all that noise, we forgot the beauty of slowing down. Of doing something just for the sake of it. That’s where Graycano begins.

Where it All Started

Graycano started with a simple idea at a kitchen table in 2020: create a coffee experience that’s built to last and meant to be savored. What began as a rough sketch of a dripper soon evolved into a mission much bigger than brewing. In the midst of a fast-paced world, founders Felix Brügmann and Nicole Chabot envisioned a way to slow down and “brew the moment”, turning a daily cup of coffee into a mindful ritual. From that first doodle to the polished brewers of today, Graycano’s story is one of ambition, heart, and a pinch of humor. Proving that with passion (and lots of coffee), anything is possible. What they created became the Graycano Dripper: a cast aluminum brewer coated in food-safe silicone. Built for quick preheat, rock-solid temperature stability, and better flavor in the cup. Clean, durable, and unlike anything else out there. But even that wasn’t enough.

Meet the People Behind the Volcano

We’re a small team, but we do everything ourselves. We build, design, pack, code, test, re-test, and answer every email (usually with a smile and sometimes a coffee stain on the shirt).

• Felix is the mind behind the madness. A curious creator, an idea machine, and someone who obsesses over every millimeter of a product. With a background in management, he leads product development, visual design, and keeps the business side running.
• Nicole is the anchor of our team: engineer, strategist, and connector. She leads distributor relations, steers our marketing and social media, and makes sure big ideas stay grounded in reality. With deep roots in Brazil and a sharp eye for solutions, she bridges worlds, keeps us on track, and always finds a way forward.
• Frederik joined officially in 2024, but had been in the background all along. A computer scientist who can turn dreams into data and every chaotic idea into code. He built our websites from scratch and now runs our tech, logistics, and quality control.

Together, we’re not just a team. We’re friends. We’re family. Two quiet Northern Germans with a dry sense of humor, balanced by Nicole’s warm Brazilian energy. We don’t have it all figured out, but we care deeply. And that gets us pretty far.

The Farm in Brazil

Half a world away from Graycano’s German base, in the nature of Minas Gerais, Brazil, lies Fazenda Jacarezal – the heart of our sustainability project. This coffee farm, run by farmer Paulo and his dedicated team, is where the magic truly begins. It’s where My Tree was born.

Launched in 2022, My Tree lets you adopt your very own coffee tree. You give it a name. We send you updates, photos, and stories as it grows. You follow its journey: through blossoms, harvests, and the hands of the people who care for it. It’s not a marketing stunt. It’s personal. This project supports sustainable farming, provides jobs for the local community, and reconnects us with the origin of something we love but so often take for granted: coffee. Our Philosophy

“Brew the Moment” isn’t just a catchy tagline painted on our packaging. It’s a way of life we champion every day. In practice, it means slowing down and finding joy in the process of brewing and sipping coffee. We live in a hectic world that often runs on instant coffee and instant gratification. Graycano invites you to do the opposite: take a breath, grind fresh beans, heat the water, and watch as each drip falls and time seems to slow. The aroma, the warmth of the cup in your hands, the first sip in the quiet of morning. These are the moments we brew.
This philosophy was inspired by the mantra “enjoy the moment”, which we’ve made our own in a coffee context. It’s about conscious appreciation of small moments. Brewing coffee becomes a gentle form of meditation. A routine that recenters you. Whether you’re brewing a single cup at dawn before the emails start, or making an afternoon pour-over to share with a friend, we encourage you to be present.
