THE GRAYCANO DRIPPER AT THE WORLD BREWERS CUP

The World Brewers Cup (WBrC) is a prestigious event that takes place annually and brings together the best baristas from around the world. They compete against each other in the art of the pour over and present their idea of the perfect filter coffee. However, the World Brewers Cup is not just a competition. Rather, it provides a platform to share knowledge and innovation in the coffee industry. Baristas will have the opportunity to showcase their latest discoveries and experiments, pushing the boundaries of coffee making.

The WBrC 2023 took place in Athens, Greece. In addition to Erik Freudenberg, who competed representing Germany, the Greek representative Savina Giachgia also used the graycano dripper. With an impressive performance, she reached 2nd place. Her success is not only a personal milestone, but also an inspiration for us at the graycano team and all the coffee lovers around the world.

Already at the WBrC 2022 in Melbourne, Australia, the graycano dripper was the favorite for the big stage from the German barista Nicole Battefeld-Montgomery, who was Erik's coach this year and from the Austrian barista Martin Wölfl! You can watch the presentations here.

A slight angle difference of -2,75º on the filter shape (once folded) allows the new filter to just perfectly lay over the graycano Lava Ribs. This avoids undesired and random filter positioning, like tilted sitting or uneven contact with the conical walls, which are the greatest reason to uneven extractions and consistency within a brewing recipe.

MY TREE : COFFEE TREE ADOPTION

My Tree gives you the chance to adopt a coffee tree and give it a unique name. The graycano coffee trees are planted in the Fazenda Jacarezal, located in Minas Gerais, Brazil and cultivated by Paulo Machado and his team. By adopting a tree you do not only follow its journey, but also learn more about the coffee cycle and support Paulo and his team.

Brazil is one of the greatest coffee producers. However, the poverty and inequality are great concerns in the country, specially in the rural areas. We want that all of the workers from the Fazenda Jacarezal, who are involved in cultivating the graycano plantation (your coffee tree), have the best resources and fair opportunities we can offer.
